Patricia Carrasquilla is the owner/founder of STREETdogARTstudio. She is a Mexican Visual Artist, born and raised in the complex and fascinating Mexico City.
Since the age of 20 Patricia started producing art and showing her work in group and solo exhibits. Her work has been seen in over 40 group exhibitions (in Mexico, Canada, Japan, USA, Lithuania, and France) and five solo exhibits. She has taught Fine Arts for six years to children in elementary schools in Mexico City and rural communities. In 2003 she moved to Canada and has been living and working in the Greater Toronto Area since then.
Among her awards are two bursaries given by the Mexican Government through The National Fund for Culture and Arts (FONCA) and the program Jóvenes Creadores. In 1998 she was awarded a Residency for Artists by UNESCO-ASCHBERG, through the International Fund for the Promotion of Culture, to develop outreach projects in the Palestinian cities of Ramallah and Tulkarm for the young people who livde in refugee camps and marginalized communities all along the West Bank.Patricia obtained her Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts at the National School of Painting, Sculpture and Printing “LA ESMERALDA”, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Photography at ITESM (Tec de Monterrey) in Mexico City.
Patricia now resides in the beautiful town of Oakville, Ontario. Besides her commitment to her own work as an artist in Canada, she shares her knowledge with youth groups. Through the Halton Multicultural Council she has been able to give Cultural Awareness Training Seminars and Art Workshops in elementary schools throughout the Halton Region. Other related projects include working in the Hamilton Area as well through SISO, OECTA and TESL.
STREETdogARTstudio is her permanent residence for her personal creative art projects but also created the space to nurture her love for the Fine Arts with others.
